The tubular design with telescoping fittings allows

unlimited adjustment during installation. Simply slide the fittings on the tubes to level and plumb the wall, then lock them together with self drilling tek screws.

•  Adjusts for roof pitch

•  Tubing pre cut to length

•  Installs fast

The same flexible design and adjustability applies when using the RoofScreen products for solar racking systems.

Adjustability

Front to Back

The horizontal tube will slide forward and backward in the two Base Cap Assemblies allowing the installer to perfectly plane out the face of the screen. To keep the front tube plumb, the Field Connector that connects the diagonal tube will need to be adjusted up or down as indicated by the arrows in the illustration below.

Tilt

The front vertical tube will pivot at the connection to the horizontal tube by sliding the connector up or down, allowing it to be installed perfectly vertical or sloped back at any degree of angle.

Side to Side

The horizontal tube will rotate within the two Base Cap Assemblies allowing the frame to be plumbed side to side.

Tubing

Allied

•  Featuring Gatorshield by Allied Tube & Conduit

•  Size: 2.5" round, 16ga and 11ga

•  Material: 40ksi to 55ksi steel

•  Exterior Finish: Special triple coat zinc process. Resists rust more than 4 times longer than standard galvanized pipe

•  Interior Finish: Zinc rich paint to protect from interior rust

Pre-cutting

Because roofs slope up and down for drainage, the RoofScreen tubes will need to be cut to the appropriate lengths to keep the top of the wall at a level elevation. To make this process easier, orders are pre-cut to the dimensions of the tallest frame on the project. This way the tubes are easier to handle and install. For roofs with very little slope, field trimming of the tube lengths may not be needed and the frames can simply be adjusted for the slope. In cases where there is too much slope for the frame adjustability, some tubes will need to be field trimmed to length.

Crimp

Depending on the frame type and configuration, tubes are crimped where possible to reduce material and labor cost.

Components

Base Cap (part # C10)

The Base Cap fits over the top of the Flashing Boot and Base Support overlapping them by 2.4", while compressing the Rubber Gasket and creating the seal. The cap is anchored to the Base Support with 8 stainless steel bolts. The bolts have an undercut shoulder with a sealing washer for a watertight seal.

Sprocket Lock

The Base Cap has a round sprocket feature that mates to a similar feature on several other connector pieces available, such as the Base Connector shown in the image to the left. This Sprocket Lock allows the connector to pivot and adjust for the roof pitch. After the adjustment is complete, the center bolt is tightened, clamping the large washers over the Sprocket Lock. This engages the gears, resulting in a fixed connection and a rigid frame.

Base Connector (part # C11)

The Base Connector is used to connect the 2.5" round tubing to the Base Cap.

U Connector (part # C22)

The U Connector is used to connect 4x lumber to the Base Cap. Tube steel could also be supported.

V Connector (part # C20)

The Vertical Connector can be used to support various types of materials, such as steel studs, angle iron, wood, Unistrut, etc.

Flat Connector (part # C21)

The Flat Connector can support various types of materials similar to the V Connector, and also works well for I-beams and tube steel.

Field Connector (part # C12)

The Field Connector is used to connect the end of a tube to any point along the length of another tube.

Perpendicular Field Connector (part # C23)

Use this connector when the fin on the Field Connector needs to be oriented perpendicular to the tubing it is connected to.

End Connector (part # C15)

When the tubing can't be pre crimped, the End Connector is used to connect the end of the tube to another fitting.

Surface Mount Connector (part # C19)

Use this to connect tubing or any other connectors to a solid surface such as a concrete wall, steel beam, etc. Available in 6" and 4" wide.

Sway Brace (part # C25)

Use the Sway Brace for an additional connection point on the Base Cap. This works well when lateral bracing is needed.

Two Piece Sway Brace (part # C26)

This is a variation of the Sway Brace. It allows the tubing or fitting to connect in a different orientation.

Hardware

The nuts, bolts and screws that connect the fittings are stainless steel to prevent rust and corrosion.
